December 2015

Merry Christmas
It's been a busy December for me with a weekend away, my birthday and visiting my Grandsons school to watch the Nativity, to mention just a few things.....

We had a lovely weekend in Chester although there was lots of rain we still managed to visit the Christmas market and take lots of photographs.

I did get some time to crochet

This blanket pattern will be available soon.

I had lovely birthday with lots of presents, Fimo, a beautiful new iPad and crochet and cookery books.

We also had a day out visiting my Aunt in Knaresborough then going to Fountains Abbey where the mist was drifting across the Abbey.

Here is my very first try at making a Fimo hook handle

It's not the best it's really a bit bumpy but I am hoping that I will get better with more practise.

Christmas Day was magical and spent with my family, the children had lots of toys which became trip hazards, the youngest is Oliver who has autism he loves to line things up so we are unable to move them

Here are a few of his most important toys

Planets through the dining room

Shapes on the table

And houses in the lounge this seems to be our road...... Not to mention the train track all over as well.

We all wish you a Happy New Year in 2016 and happy crocheting....

Springtime in Paris progress

Hello,

I started this blanket a while ago so I thought I would update you with the progress.  I blogged about our trip to Paris in April, which you can read about here.

This is mile a minute style blanket is worked in strips.  The colours were inspired by the photograph of tulips in Paris.

I am also busy getting prepared for the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC in Birmingham in November this year.  Last year woolpacks were very popular so I have ordered a little more wool than normal.  Where do you keep 500 more balls of wool?

You can also buy wool packs online if you can't make the show.  Bright Blanket available in three colour ways but please contact me if you want different colours.  Seaton Blanket also available in threes different colour ways.

Happy Crocheting,

Sorry, long time no blog :-)

Happy Tuesday

Sorry to have been so long in adding to this blog,
I have been very busy over the holidays and we have been away a lot as well.

The last trip was Dubai and Mauritius I did do some crochet while I was there and on the planes, a new doll, pattern and name to follow, I will have to alter her face she looks grumpy in the picture.

I am remaking Christmas snowballs to take to the NEC Birmingham in November for the Hobbycrafts Show, I can't wait to meet everyone again.

The misty foggy mornings are here this week and I don't feel like doing much when it's dark and gloomy, how about you?
Must get on with the jobs, ironing done, washing started and now to crochet, hurrah !!

Morning making cards

Hello,

I have had a lovely morning helping my daughter making lots of teacher thank you cards for the end of term.  She wanted them to have flowers on so we used an assortment of patterns from the Flower Frenzy booklet.  We also added some buttons to make them a little more interesting.  As she needed some cards for men we did some apples and a bus for the bus driver.  :-)

Please note - Apple and bus are not in flower frenzy booklet as I just made them up this morning.

Don't forget there is currently 10% off all order over £3.00 using the code 10Aug2015 on the Etsy store.

Thank you,
Alison

Introducing Seaton Blanket Crochet Kits

Hello,

I am finally recovered from my horrible cough, which I have had over the past few weeks.  We did have a lovely family holiday at Centre Parcs, where I managed to do a little bit of crocheting and photography amongst all the activities.

Seaton blanket crochet packs are now available on Etsy.  They are £10 plus £3 postage in the UK, but if you live outside the UK and would like one please email me, ali.crafts@ntlworld.com.

The packs are available in three different colour ways. You get 6 balls of Stylecraft Special Yarn plus the free Seaton Blanket pattern.  I have loved making this blanket as it was a very interesting project, starting from a photograph my husband took to choosing the colours.

This is the Seaton Blue colour way.

Choosing different colours ways....

Above is the Seaton pastels colour way.
